Cardinal Animal Hospital

Cardinal Animal Hospital is a full-service state accredited Veterinary Hospital. We are well equipped with both gas and injectable anesthesia and have up-to-date recovery and intensive care facilities. We also have advanced dental equipment, which allows us to provide progressive dental services. Our surgery suite has state-of-the-art monitoring equipment as well as surgical instrumentation. We are also able to provide our patients with full radiology services including ultrasound and contrast studies.

The laboratory is state-of-the-art and allows us to run our tests in-house and provides us with quick results. We are also able to provide EKG, endoscopy, and full pharmacy services. Full service boarding and grooming are also offered.

Our staff has completed rigorous training to become licensed at both the federal and state levels and continues to improve their training by attending numerous continuing education courses annually.

We also have a board certified veterinary radiologist that comes to our hospital on a regular basis and have strong ties with other veterinary specialists in cardiology, surgery, ophthalmology, and internal medicine.

    Dr. Denis is a native of Michigan and received a BS in Medical Technology with honors in 1979 and his DVM in 1984 from Michigan State University. Upon graduating, he accepted a position in a small animal/equine practice in Perrysburg, Ohio, where he practiced until relocating to Greensboro. In July 1985, he began managing a small animal hospital in Greensboro and in July 1988, he opened Cardinal Animal Hospital.

    Dr.Denis is a member of several veterinary organizations and has served on the board with many of them. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and has a special interest in orthopedic surgery, dentistry, endoscopy and internal medicine.

    Dr. Paula Jones, originally from St. Louis, Missouri, received a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from Missouri State University in 1996. In 2000, she received her DVM from the University of Missouri-College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she moved to Hope Mills, NC and worked in a small animal/equine practice. It was there she became interested in laser surgery. In 2004, she moved to High Point to practice as a relief veterinarian and performed laser surgery at various hospitals around the triad.

    Other professional interests include Opthalmology, Dermatology, Surgery, and pocket pets.

    In her free time, Dr. Jones likes to bicycle, exercise, and horseback ride. She currently resides in High Point with her husband Darren, their 5 dogs, 2 cats, and a horse.

  • Michele Yandola

    Michele Yandola

    Michele is our Practice Manager and has been with us since September 2011.  Michele is originally from New Jersey and moved to Greensboro in 2000.  She has been working in the veterinary field for over 18 years as a technician, and the last 4 years in veterinary management.

    Michele has 4 dogs-a Pitbull mix named "Koby", a Miniature Pinscher named "Sadie Mae", a Maltipoo named "Wallace", and the newest addition a Shih-poo named "Luigi".

    Michele and her husband Joe love spending time with their son Joseph.

    Heather Cude

    Heather is a Veterinary Assistant from Winston-Salem and has been here since July 2003. Being a true animal lover, she has many pets including 2 pot bellied pigs, 3 dogs, 1 cat, 6 exotic birds, 2 rabbits, 2 chincillas, 2 goats, and 6 chickens!

    Her hobbies include gardening, reading, sewing, and studying American and ancient Holy Land histories.  She also loves photographing nature and mountains.

    Emily is a Veterinary Assistant from Asheboro and has been with us since August 2008. She has a Welsh Corgi named "Breena" and an Arabian horse named "Cory"

    Emily is married to her High School sweetheart Duke who is proud to serve his country in the US Marines (thank you Duke!). In her free time she likes to paint, ride her horse and go antique shopping.

    Krystal is one of our Veterinary Assistants and been with us since August 2003.  She has one dog named "Ronin" and two cats named "Vegas" and "Pax."

    Krystal and her husband, Mars have two boys Ethan and Spencer.  She loves to play soccor for fun and spend time with her family.

    Josh is a Veterianry Assistant from Winston-Salem and has been with us since August 2008. Josh is Heather's brother and share all of the same furry creatures!

    Along with working with animals, Josh loves American History, hiking, music, and astronomy.

    Kristie Russell

    Kristie a Kennel Assistant originally from Newport News, Virginia. She has 3 beautiful daughters with whom she spends most her free time with. She also has a Miniature Schnauzer named "Bruno" that her and the girls love to take to the park and play ball.

    Aside from spending time with her children, Kristie loves to workout and take care of animals.

    Courtney is a Kennel Assistant originally from Boston, Massachusetts. She has 2 Dobermans named "Apollo" and "Caesar", 4 cats named "Bear", "Kitty", "Moo", and "Hobo", fish, a painted turtle, and a hermit crab.

    Courtney was a competetitive cheerleader since she was 7 years old and absolutely loves sports, especially football, baseball, basketball, and hocky.

    Angie is a Kennel Attendant born and raised in Winston-Salem. She has been with us since April 2009. Angie is the proud mommy of a sweet little girl named Addison who loves animals as much as her mom!

    In her spare time Angie loves to go horseback riding and taking long walks with her daughter and their Toy Chihuahua "DD".

    Ryan is a Kennel Attendant and was born and raised in Greensboro.  He is a senior at Northwest Guilford High School and plans to attend UNCG to study recreational therapy.

    Ryan has one dog-a Golden Retriever named "June".  In his spare time he loves to play guitar, longboarding, hanging out with friends, and Taco Bell!

    Susan is a Receptionist from Greensboro and joined our team in April 2007. She is the proud owner of our Hospital Greeter "Bailey" Clack (see his bio below) and his sister, a Silky Terrier named "Nikki"-the wild child of the family who unfortunately was not a graduate of Bark Busters Academy like her brother Bailey.

    Susan is the mother of two-a son Joseph who graduated with a Chiropractic Degree in the summer of 2010, and a daughter Lindsay. She is also the proud grandmother of Lindsay's beautiful son, Oliver.

    She loves to go out to dinner, movies and walking her pups.

    Tiffany is a Receptionist who is from Stokesdale. Her "furrmily" consists of 4 cats named "Tigger" (Queen of her universe), "Daisy"(the little purrbox), "Sweetie"(the name says it all!), and "Leo"(a lean mean hunting machine), and 2 Boxers named "Ruca" and "Titus".

    In her spare time Tiffany loves to go to concerts, movies, hiking, knitting, card games, reading, puzzles, and riding her motorcycle.

  • Kathy Dickerson

    Kathy Dickerson

    Kathy is our professional groomer who is available by appointment to do special haircuts on both dogs and cats. Kathy is a graduate of the Southern Institute of Pet Grooming in Central, South Carolina, where she studied & trained under the direction of Debbie Beckwith, a "Certified Master Groomer" known internationally for her work in the grooming field. Kathy's classes included: All Breed Dog Grooming, Dog History, AKC Breeds and Anatomy, Handling Problem Animals, Common Health Problems, Safe Grooming, Cat Grooming, First Aid, Skin Problems and Parasites. You may schedule your pet to be groomed by Kathy Monday through Saturday.
